The District’s Information Systems is an internal services division that supports a local area network with servers, software applications, desktop computers, laptops, wireless access points, firewalls, switches, and CCTV cameras. Information Systems also oversees a comprehensive Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, web services, MPLS network, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) telephony, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and many real-time IP based communications systems such as security video applications.

The team is committed to providing technology and the development of digital services that support the district’s mission of providing high quality water service in a cost-effective and environmentally sensitive manner.

Business Systems and Support

This team supports the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, the Customer Information System (CIS), Email, and other enterprise support platforms used by District staff. The team also manages the provisioning and support of servers, data storage systems, desktops, laptops, tablets, and other devices.

Networking and SCADA

The networking and SCADA group oversees the deployment, configuration, and support of the district’s network systems, telecommunication, cybersecurity programs, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). This team manages the planning, implementation, and operation of the City’s Information Technology infrastructure, including telecommunications; radio communications; and wired and wireless networking connecting four main facilities, several Pump Stations, Tank Sites, and other miscellaneous facilities.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

The district’s mapping and spatial data library are managed through Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Several tools and websites facilitate the viewing and creation of static and interactive maps as well as in performing analysis.
