We have programs to help you.

Whether you are interested in how to check for leaks or would like to schedule a presentation for your elementary classroom, here is where you can find information on LVMWD's various community resources.

LVMWD launches Customer Appreciation Award Program to recognize the “difference makers” that go above and beyond to be more water efficient.

In July 2023, Las Virgenes Municipal Water District launched their Water Warriors Customer Appreciation Program.  This Program aims to acknowledge and reward customers who have worked hard to reduce their daily water usage through water efficient best practices including transformed landscapes.  The Program recognizes LVMWD’s water warriors, with a WISE Award (Water-Conscious Individual Stewardship and Excellence Award) and/or a Greenovation Landscape Transformation Award.

To be considered for the WISE Award, customers need to have demonstrated “water thrifty” best practices in and around their home consistently during the 2022 Drought and currently despite the lifting of imposed water restrictions.  Awardees are selected by District staff based on water use data through the new advanced water meters.

To be considered for the Greenovation Award, customers must have successfully completed a turf transformation project with funding assistance through Metropolitan Water District’s Turf Replacement Program (visit bewaterwise.com).  Staff identifies and selects completed projects with the best designs for climate appropriate and drought resilient plantings.

This Program will be running through September 2023.  District staff will be selecting two winners per award category each month that will receive an array of prizes.

LVMWD Spring Landscape Workshop Series Resources

As part of the District's commitment to our customers these workshops are meant to demystify the process of landscape transformation and provide customers with data they can use to maximize the transformation of their property. For customers considering landscape transformation, LVMWD hosted a Spring Landscape Workshop Series. From March through June, five free workshops we held in-person at LVMWD headquarters and online. Topics included garden design, fire-wise landscaping, native garden maintenance, and how to apply for a Turf Replacement rebate.

The Fall Landscape Workshop Series is in development and will begin in September. University-level professors and industry professionals will share their experiences with sustainable landscaping and provide customers with resources to tackle their own transformation project.
