(Update June 27, 2012)

The Agoura Hills Pipeline Project along Reyes Adobe and Agoura Road is complete.

LVMWD thanks the community’s residents and businesses for their cooperation.

----------------

(Update June 18, 2012)

The new pipeline is slated to go into service this week; only some “cleanup” items remain to be done.

----------------

(Updated June 11, 2012)

This week the new pipeline will be pressure-tested and disinfected with chlorinated water as the project nears completion.

Some pavement “clean-up” work will also occur along Agoura Road.

----------------

(Updated June 7, 2012)

Work continues on installing pipe across the bridge that spans the storm channels on Agoura Road between Kanan and Cornell Roads.

“Clean-up” work that includes pavement smoothing will continue as this project nears completion.

----------------

(Updated May 22, 2012)

Finishing work is underway on the trench cuts along Agoura Road. Work will also commence this week on installing the pipe on the bridge that crosses the storm channels on Agoura Road between Kanan and Cornell Roads.

Traffic will be maintained in both directions on Agoura Road; some temporary restrictions may be needed from time to time. Please observe the directions from traffic control flagmen. There is full access to all local businesses along Agoura Road.

Agoura Road Lane Restrictions End
Progress continues on the Agoura Road pipeline project, with the removal of lane restrictions.  There
will be some additional work on the pavement surface and to install appurtenances. Two-way traffic
has been restored between Kanan and Cornell Roads and all local businesses and restaurants are fully
accessible.

----------------

(Updated May 11, 2012)

Backfilling of the bore pit and base paving on Agoura Road has been completed.  Agoura Road will be open to two-way traffic this afternoon (Friday, May 11).

----------------

(Updated May 9, 2012 - amended)

Traffic remains restricted to one lane in the eastbound direction on Agoura Road between Kanan and Cornell Roads.

The “receiving” excavation that was in front of Padre’s Restaurant has been filled and covered.

Work continues on installing pipe from the “bore” excavation, which is scheduled for backfilling and paving by Friday, May 11.  Work on attaching appurtenances along Agoura Road continues, resulting in temporary lane restrictions.

Please note: All restaurants and business along Agoura Rd. remain open and accessible during their regular business hours.

-----------------

(Updated April 25, 2012)

An unexpected and significant underground obstacle (boulder) was encountered this week that slowed progress in the boring operation in the Agoura Rd. segment between Cornell and Kanan Roads. That problem has now been solved and work continues with placing liners in the bore. However, rain may slow the project as work cannot be conducted during inclement weather.

Work on the connections to appurtenances continues along Agoura Road between Kanan and Reyes Adobe Roads, which when complete will see the removal of metal plates over the connection areas. Motorists and bicycle riders should exercise caution when passing over plated sections.

Please NoteAll businesses and restaurants in the vicinity of Agoura Rd, Kanan Rd and Cornell Rd are open during their regular business hours and accessible at all times during the construction period.

-----------------

(Updated April 5, 2012)

Trench work on the Agoura Road segment is now complete; however the excavation between Kanan and Cornell Roads must remain in place while “jack and bore” work continues at that location, restricting traffic to one lane.

Upcoming work includes finishing the installation of appurtenances and the removal of metal plates, followed by grinding and smoothing the pavement where trench work occurred.

Please note that all businesses and restaurants in the Agoura Road project area between Kanan and Cornell Roads are open and accessible during their normal business hours.

-----------------

(Updated March 14, 2012)

Night work on the Agoura Road segment of the pipeline is expected to be complete by the week of March 19.
The remaining work, which involves “tunneling” operations will be conducted during daytime hours, with minimal effects on traffic expected.

Please Note – All businesses and restaurants in the vicinity of Agoura Rd, Kanan Rd and Cornell Rd are open and accessible during the construction period.

-----------------

(Updated March 13, 2012)

Effective March 14, the traffic pattern on Agoura Rd. between Kanan and Cornell will change to eastbound only during non-working (night time) hours.   During working hours, a flagman will be present to maintain restricted two-way traffic.

(Updated March 7, 2012)

Pipe installation continues along Agoura Road in Agoura Hills, 400 ft west of Kanan Road and all the way to Cornell Road. For the next four weeks, there will be lane restrictions on Agoura Road and detour signs for traffic around the construction zone.
  • Eastbound traffic on Agoura Road is prohibited at certain times.
  • Please follow the detour signs East on the US 101 or Roadside Drive.
  • The public is strongly advised to drive cautiously:
    • Follow flagmen's direction
    • Adhere to all posted signs regarding construction
    • Reduce speed in construction zone
  • Nighttime work is scheduled as well, while crews install pipelines through the intersection.
  • All businesses are open and accessible during construction.
Final paving and striping of the portion of the pipeline along Reyes Adobe Road has been completed.

(Updated February 22, 2012)

Work on installing the pipeline continues to move east along Agoura Road toward Kanan during night time hours.

Work will also commence on a “jack and bore” segment that will see pipe installed beneath the flood control channel on Agoura Road just east of Kanan, (between Kanan and Cornell). However, the “jack and bore” work will be done during daytime hours and it will be necessary for the equipment to remain in place until that segment of the project is complete.

Once again, if the weather cooperates, the smoothing of the roadway cuts along Reyes Adobe Road is expected to be complete during the first week of March.

-----------------

(Updated February 15, 2012)

Pipeline pressure tests have concluded on the Reyes Adobe Road segment of the project.
The “final” paving over the pipeline area along Reyes Adobe Road is projected to be complete by the first week of March, barring any unforeseen delays due to weather or other circumstances. Later in 2012, the City of Agoura Hills is scheduled to repave the portion of Reyes Adobe Road north of the US 101 Freeway interchange.

Progress on installing pipe continues eastward along Agoura Road, with work being done during nighttime hours to minimize daytime traffic delays.

(Updated February 7, 2012 )

As the pipeline project has now moved east past Ladyface Court, all work on the Agoura Road pipeline project has shifted to night time hours.

This change will minimize traffic delays that might affect businesses in the construction zone and help avoid congestion during peak commuter hours.

Night time work on the Reyes Adobe bridge over US 101 continues but should conclude within two weeks.

---------------

(Updated January 25, 2012)

A crew is completing final tests on the newly installed pipeline along Reyes Adobe Road. Some traffic restrictions will continue to be necessary during daytime hours but this section of the project should be complete by mid-February.

On the south side of Agoura Road, near the Agoura Hills City Hall / Library complex, a crew is currently installing pipeline in an eastbound direction, moving toward Kanan Road. Another crew is located on Agoura Road, immediately west of Kanan Road, installing pipeline beneath a flood control channel.

Beginning January 30, a crew will be working at night on the Reyes Adobe bridge over the 101 Freeway, installing pipe inside the bridge casing. There will be lane restrictions on the west side of the bridge while this nighttime work is in progress.

(Updated December 8, 2011)

Workers will be soon finishing the pipeline work on Reyes Adobe Rd in Agoura Hills.

While the pavement repair may look unfinished, there will be smoothing. In the coming months, the City of Agoura Hills will be repaving Reyes Adobe Rd.

Construction efforts will now shift to Agoura Rd. with trenching and a more complex “jack and bore” segment that muss pass under a waterway. The “jack and bore” work will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Trenching work along Agoura Rd from Ladyface Court east toward just west of Kanan will be done at night, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

(Updated November 7, 2011)

The construction of a new potable water pipeline will result in lane restrictions on US 101 during the late night / early morning hours between November 7 and November 23. The affected area of US 101 will be between Lindero Canyon and Kanan Rds.

Night time traffic on the Reyes Adobe overpass will not be affected by this phase of the project.

---------

(Updated November 3, 2011)

Pipeline construction along Reyes Adobe Rd is begun.

Work is scheduled to occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the segment of
Reyes Adobe Rd. between Canwood Street and Thousand Oaks. Blvd.

Traffic restrictions and delays should be expected in the construction zone. Please drive with caution to protect construction workers.

---------

As part of a multi-year potable water system upgrade project, LVMWD will be installing a new pipeline running south on Reyes Adobe Road between Thousand Oaks Blvd. and Agoura Rd.; then along Agoura Road between Reyes Adobe and Cornell. The new pipeline will provide increased capacity for times of peak water demand and additional system reliability.

Notice has been mailed to homeowners, businesses and users of the streets where construction will occur. LVMWD is working closely with the City of Agoura Hills to ensure that the project is completed as quickly as possible, once construction begins.

"No one likes construction disruptions; we will make every effort to keep the project moving along," said David R. Lippman, LVMWD’s Director of Facilities & Operations.

He added that the new pipeline will benefit the entire District’s distribution system.

"During bridge construction at Reyes Adobe Road, we worked with the city and its contractor to install the pipeline in that area, so we don’t have to disturb the majority of new pavement or the road surface of the bridge."

Updates will be posted periodically or you can sign-up for e-Notifications and select Construction Updates.
