Spring 2023 is in bloom and we are excited about the events we are participating in throughout our communities in the coming months, as well as hosting ourselves. See where we will be and what we have on tap (pun intended) on the calendar list below.

LVMWD Spring Landscape Workshop Series - Free Firescaping Workshop

In person Firescaping workshop at LVMWD HQ

Topic: Firescaping: Protecting your family, home and property from a wildfire

Presenter: Douglas Kent

Description: California’s landscapes have been burning for thousands of years. Nothing will change that in the foreseeable future. In fact, just the opposite—our state’s landscapes will burn at greater frequency and ferocity.

Join author/horticulturalist Douglas Kent as he shares the strategies that will enable you to protect your family, your property, and your community. Kent will be focusing structures, defensible space, and the role of plants in fire protection. Kent is the author of the best-selling book on fire protection, teaches at a variety of colleges, and has been working to create fire-protected properties since 1994. His presentations are professional, educational and dynamic.

The first fifty (50) attendees to register will receive a copy of Douglas Kent's book, California Friendly: A maintenance guide for landscapers, gardeners and land managers. Book recipients will be emailed confirmation after registration and must attend the event to receive their free copy.

This class is free. Advanced registration required.
